When it comes to knowing your metrics, it can matter between you making money on the internet and not making anything at all. This is where google analytics comes to your rescue. Let’s find out what it is and how it can help you
How can you know who to target and make money from that audience? Well this depends on the niche that you’re in. If you’re in finance, health and wellness, telecommunication, affiliate marketing, network marketing, or whatever your business is, this will be a good indicator of who to focus on.
You can find these different markets on in groups and categories in social media and blogging sites to start. I personally like to go to bloggers.com, topsy.com, triberr.com as well as the different blogging and home business groups on facebook.
But here’s what a lot new and old entrepreneurs skip. Although they’re branding and promoting themselves as well as their business, they don’t know how well their sites are doing and how they can improve traffic and lead generation as well as sales conversions.
If you really want more eyes to see your site(s) then knowing how well your sites are doing and how you can improve is a must. These statistics are your METRICS.
Why It’s Important To Know Your Marketing Stats
What You Want To Know When Promoting Your Sites
To many of you who are beginners at statistics, you probably don’t have a great idea of what to look for. That’s OK! This is probably not something you think about all day. All you’re looking for are results.
You want to get the 50 leads a day and get the sales everyday like you see promoted. But what is it that these people do in order to get those sales?
Yes they know how to market and they have a target market, but how do they get into the rhythm of getting those great reasults? Well when it comes to your METRICS there are some things you want to know:
- How many visitors come to your site(s)
- How many pages does your visitors view
- How long do they stay on your site(s)
- What pages did they view the most
- What pages are people linking to
- What is the most popular page on your blog or website
- Who is sending you the most traffic
- What times of the day do people come to your site(s)
Now as I bought Solo Ads I use to keep track of the metrics of one of my capture pages using Microsoft Excel which was a bit tedious.
NOT NO MORE!
Although I’ve been blogging since 2010, I just fully set up my Google Analytics account back in May of 2013. Better late than never, right? This tool was a big relief for me because now I can see the traffic coming in and have a better idea of what to do to improve.
It was pretty complicated at first because I was getting all types of information on how to set up Google Analytics, which I will write a blog post about soon. But the first, thing first, if you haven’t figured it out already, Google Analytics is a great FREE tool you can use to track all of your data (METRICS).
Just to keep it simple you want to first get a Google Account if you haven’t already. You can go to http://www.google.com/analytics/ to get started.
If you’re using WordPress like I am, you want to install a plugin so that you can link your blog to Google Analytics. I use Google Analytics For WordPress and I also noticed that people use Ultimate Google Analytics. Either or works fine as long as it links back to Google Analytics.
Just to make things easier for you and less complicated, here is a check that can help you link your wordpress blog and Google Analytics site.
Now It’s Your Turn
