If you started doing or are interested in doing online marketing, then there are probably a lot of thoughts going through your head. More than likely the major question you ask yourself is how are you going to make money online? In this post I’m going to talk about questions you can ask yourself to build the moment and get you going on your online journey….
Online Marketing is a great way for you to reach people from your backyard to around the world. Everyday you see people from all walks of life entering the online marketing scene.
It could be blogging, affiliate marketing, network marketing, or just your traditional home business, more and more people are starting the see the value of promoting their businesses online. It definitely has its benefits. It’s more convenient, it’s world wide, a lot easier to leverage, and above all you can promote without you being there by using some of the automated tools.
But one thing is for sure. It’s not easier than offline marketing.
Because you actually have to put in some work and learn how to market.
The misconception of a lot of people when they bring their home businesses online is that it’s going to be a lot easier to do since it’s on the internet. They believe it’s very little work involved and all they have to do is keep putting their links on the internet, and traffic, leads and sales will just magically appear.
Well if you’re thinking that, so are the majority of people that come online.
One thing you want to figure out is how are you going to stand out? How are you going to be the one that’s going to be different from what everyone else is doing? What will be so special about what you’re saying that no one else is saying?
These are the thoughts that goes through the minds of a lot of successful online marketers. They’ll go through through the trials and tribulation in order to find that knack that will propel them to success. This is why it’s so important to know what to ask and what to look for.
There are certain questions that are beneficial to ask yourself so that you can stay focused on the right path. I came up with 7 questions that I’ve asked myself to build the momentum needed to really get going:
How Am I Going To Brand Myself?
If you want to stand out from the rest, you want to figure a way to brand yourself. With all types of people promoting their opportunities and saying the same thing over and over again, you definitely want to come from a different angle. You want to ask yourself how you can come up with a type of marketing that’s going to be totally different from the dull, monotonous marketing that the majority of other online marketers are doing.
This is why branding yourself more so than your offers is so important. You want to get to the point that no matter what opportunity you join or what products or services you promote, your leads and prospects will be all ears and follow you.
How Am I Going To Generate Leads And Traffic?
There are so many different ways to generate traffic and leads that it’s mind boggling. I suggest you pick one or two strategies and learn all you can about them. I myself chose blogging and solo ads. Blogging helps me to brand myself quite well and solo ads are just a quick way to build up my email list.
What Will Be The Frequency Of Publishing Blog Posts?
Since I chose blogging as one of the ways to brand myself and generate leads and traffic, I want to figure out how frequently I want to publish my posts. Some people would say everyday, while others say one to three times a week. I’ve came to the conclusion that it doesn’t matter.
What really matters is how often do you promote it and are you engage other people, especially other bloggers. With that said, you can find that you can leverage other blogs as well as your readers to help you promote it. How? Through the use of automation programs like TwitterFeed or through the use of social media buttons. Leverage is definitely a convenient, wise way to promote!
Which Blog Posts I’ve Done Are The Most Popular?
As you start to get more traffic, and possibly run out of ideas of what else to blog, one thing I did was promote my most popular posts. It shows a lot of social proof because of all the comments I have, and plus it will lead to getting you more traffic to your site.
Also, I almost forgot, since your blog is the top of the marketing funnel, promoting your most popular posts can definitely guarantee more leads to go into your funnel. The more social proof you have, the more people you’ll attract, and the more people that will get into your funnel.
How Many Times A Week Will I Email My Subscribers?
Once your interested prospects, better known as leads, are in your funnel, you definitely want to start building a relationship with them. How so? Get personable with them and flood them with a lot of value. If it’s a home business, talk about how to grow a home business. If its’ health and wellness, talk about ways to stay healthy. If it’s finance, talk about what to invest in and why. You get the picture?
Now how many times you should do this? Some people do it once a week while others do it everyday. It’s really up to you and the time you can make without stressing yourself out. But more importantly use Paretos 80/20 principle of promoting value 80% of the time and your offer 20% of the time.
How Am I Going To Segment My Subscribers?
Once you have your targeted list of subscribers in your emails, you want to figure which subscribers will be interested in which offers you have. Once you do that, you create a specific list for those people and only promote that offer to them.
You want to use an email autoresponder for this. I use aweber and it always shows which subscribers clicked on what offers in their statistics section. Once you figure this out, you will start to see more sales.
How Will I Qualify The Leads I Call?
Here’s the mentality I recommend you have: You’ve done all of this work to really get going online and now you want to figure out who’s going to be worth your time to work with and who’s going to be a waste of your time to work with. So in other words, ask great questions to get your prospects and leads to convince you why it would be worth your time to work with them. You will definitely save a lot of time and get those who are serious and like to work with!
Now It’s Your Turn!
