If you’re using blogging as a strategy, you more than likely want to get a lot of traffic and leads from it. As far as getting those traffic and leads, what’s more important? Writing for Search Engines or writing for the people? Let’s dig a little more further into the topic….
As bloggers we have a call of duty to share great information that will benefit our peers. We talk about many hot topics to help our fellow entrepreneur grow their home businesses. In sense we’re the messenger. Whatever information we come across we pass it online.
Blogging has gotten so big, that there were many blogging communities that were formed. Within these communities we support each other as well as ourselves. We create backlinks and share SEO tips to generate traffic and leads.
But the question of this post is what’s more important?
Using all the SEO tricks to optimize our blog for search engines, or just focusing on creating valuable content for our readers?
We Want To Generate Traffic And Leads
In order for us to get traffic and leads, it’s vital that we get an audience. Specifically an audience that keeps coming back and recommend our blog to their friends.
Probably once of the most difficult thing to keep doing and trying to find new people each time we write a post. It can be a very tedious task to do. For example, in facebook, why keep posting in many groups each time that aren’t really active where you can post in just a few groups who are really active and support each other? You can definitely start to get traffic and leads a lot faster.
Now I’ve also read blogs that were SEO rich. They had all the keywords italicize, bolded, in their titles, and so on and so forth. But there was one problem. It was just SEO rich and didn’t make a lot sense. These blogs really didn’t go no where, but I’m sure at the time search engines really like the blogs. Now, since search engines like Google have been getting smarter and smarter, your posts can’t just be SEO rich anymore. It really has to make sense and must be relative to the topic.
Now of course, there are the content rich blog posts. Like I mentioned before, they bring to the readers valuable information that can enrich the lives of their home business entrepreneur peers. They have an audience but their content isn’t so SEO rich. Now although Google loves the genuine, valuable content, the use of SEO is beneficial because it helps reading your blog post much easier and plus it helps them to find your blog online.
You don’t want to sound like a robot who’s only purpose is to please search engines, but yet at the same time you want to be able to please search engines with not only rich content, but SEO rich content so that your blog posts can be found on the internet.
So why not have a mixture of both?
With this mix you find it easier to generate traffic, leads, and eventually monetize your blog. You will be loved by people because you’ll be answering questions to many of their problems and at the same time you’ll be loved by search engines.
When you stay consistent, you have repeat traffic coming to your blog. This is the goal of successful bloggers. And one things for sure, the repeat traffic will recommend first time visitors to your blog and then they’ll become repeat visitors as well which creates a snow ball effect. So keep this in mind and take advantage of using both SEO and valuable content!
Now It’s Your Turn!
Who do you write for? Do you write to please search engines more or just focus on creating rich content for your readers? Do you mix them? Please share your comments below and share this post with your friends. I look forward to reading them!
