Ok you’re not that social!
Not just from going to different social events, but also on social media.
You have a bunch of extroverted solopreneurs telling you constantly that if you’re going to be successful then social media is your number 1 choice.
You tried it, but it just doesn’t feel like you “Fit In”
You probably made a New Years Resolution to be a bit more outgoing and less of a bore to our extroverted dominated world.
But then again you feel like a fake.
You also want to build a home business so that one day you have that golden option of quitting your job.
You discover that Blogging would be your perfect ticket, but there comes some strings attached to blogging and that is to become more SOCIAL.
Although it would be great to build a social following, you may feel like using Social Media may be your only ticket to success.
But being very social on social media is for some people and not others.
There are other avenues you can take and focus on besides using Social Media.
What are they?
First, you need to figure out your goals before you do anything, and these goals will be aligned with who you are.
In this post I will discuss creating goals that are aligned with you and what you’re trying to accomplish as an introverted solopreneur blogger.
“The secret of life is to put yourself in the right lighting. For some is Broadway lighting, for others, a lamppost desk” ~ Susan Cain
First let’s make this clear!
You are not 100% an introvert!
If you’re blogging, then you have some characteristics of an extrovert.
You want the world to see what you wrote, but yet you’re not “loud” about it.
Do you really have to be that “loud” in order to be noticed?
Or is it best to be in the right places with the right people?
And, as far as the right people, who are they and how can you attract them?
When it comes to blogging, this is vital to really get you and your blog noticed. The way that you brand yourself and who you brand yourself towards is the spark that’s going to get things going.
Now social media is a great way to engage others who are in your target audience and build trust, showing how competent you are with the information that they’re interested in.
But the key is that you want to become a “go to” person for specific personalities that are aligned with who you are and your content.
Social Media is a great platform but it’s not the only platform that can be used. You want to be on platforms that you feel are aligned with who you are instead of forcing yourself to “put up with” trying to succeed on platforms and strategies that are not..
This is why having goals that are aligned with all that is you and your blog is more important to establish than to just focus on social media or any type of platform before going into action.
Blogs Are An Introverted Solopreneur’s Open Diary To The World
We all have our favorite writers.
Especially in the blogging world. There are certain bloggers that resonate with each one of us so well that it feels like they’re always talking directly to you.
It may seem like you can relate to each of their stories consistently.
And at the same time there are a lot of people that can relate to you.
As an introverted solopreneur, we don’t like to express ourselves to everybody, which is why in an ironic way, blogs are an introverted solopreneur’s open diary to the world.
A vital goal is to find people who are similar to you.
When you can consistently do this, you start to build an audience that can directly relate to you well and vice versa.
And you do this by just being your unique self.
But lets get further into more detail of goals that’ll help bring great results to your blog while you’re being your unique self.
Figure Out Who You Want To Target
It’s very clear that you really don’t want to chase people.
That’s just too much energy for you to put into.
Especially if you were to put forth the same energy on Social Media.
Yes, being social on social media isn’t your thing.
But one thing you can do is be the Target that your potential audience is looking for. Wouldn’t it be great if you can just attract the right people to you?
This is why having an “About Me” page is vital when it comes to your blog.
You want your potential audience to get to know who you are and what type of content you will deliver for them. This will filter out the ones that can’t relate to you and your content so you can attract the ones that are really intrigued by the information that you share.

Also, it would also benefit you to figure out who you want your target audience to be.
With this idea, it will help you on what topics to write about as you’re being your unique self.
Also you want to be able to make your Blog Posts attractive to your target audience.
Trust is vital when it comes to getting targeted traffic, and if your website doesn’t look as trustworthy compared to others, then you’ll start to lose out from the start.
There are many ways you can edit your blog posts so it looks more professional.
WordPress has a great visual editing tool bar, but it has it’s limitations.
One great solution to go beyond the limitations of the WordPress’s visual editor is by using a drag and drop website builder.
If you don’t write programming code, then using these types of tools would benefit you.
Come Up With A Message That Will Pique Their Interests
You’re overall message is going to be directed to a specific target audience.
The message will encompass what you’re blog is going to be about and will aid in attracting the audience you want to come to your blog.
We’re in an era of positioning your content to a specific group of people versus back in the 1980’s where mass marketing was the epitome of what marketing is.
The great thing about the internet age is that paid advertising is much cheaper and you have the convenience to expose your content to a world wide audience.
But now days, you want to keep in mind that your audience can go directly to the type of blog that correlates to their situation.
This is why coming up with a message that is aligned to a specific audience would be a great personal branding move that will prolong the life of your blog.
Make Sure Your Blog Posts Correlate With Your Message To Build Return Visitors
Having a cohesive blog is important.
Each time you want to write a post, the goal is to in some way, form or fashion to relate each one to your message.
This will give search engines an easier time comprehending your message and each topic linked to it so that it can figure out what type of traffic to send to your blog.
You also want to keep in mind that you want to stay consistent with your blog posts for your target audience.
With this in mind, the goal is to not only attract more of the audience you want to target, but also to build return visitors.
Having a nice following will give you the social proof needed to build strong trust. Especially whenever you promoting products and services.
When it comes to marketing, showing how competent you are and the information you publish is key to give your blog and your personal brand a strong foundation.
Publish Blog Posts With Instant Executable Solutions
Don’t you hate it when you come across solutions that will take a lot of time to set up?
Especially if your time is very limited to give full focus on your blog because of work and family.
If you’re in this situation then your target audience may also be as well.
We all want to solve those irksome riddles of problems instantaneously, so why not put out content for your audience that can be easily implemented without taking much time.
As a result of consistently doing this your blog following will start to grow with people who are looking for quick and easy answers.
Also, there’s no denying that we all want instant results whenever we find answers to our problems despite the fact that in the back of our minds we know that it may take time.
But contrary to the reality of how long it will take, we can still play the protagonist to our target audience.
Instead of just sharing solutions that will take time, why not from time to time give them executable solutions where they can see instant results.
There are a plethora of plugins, tools and strategies that your target audience can use where they can start seeing instant results and build from there.
It will give them a strong start for any goals that they want to accomplish and as a reward you’ll become an authority as someone that provides quick solutions.
Have Dialogue With Your Commenters
Like I mentioned before, you’re not 100% introverted.
It may be your dominant trait, but if you’re blogging, then it shows that you have some extroverted traits.
And when you’re visitors leave genuine comments it shows how valuable your content is to them.
Whenever you get comments, you definitely want to reply to them as soon as you can.
This shows that you appreciate your visitors for taking the time to come to your blog, reading it, and leaving a comment.
Do you have to leave a really long reply? Not necessarily.
But you do want to be personable and on top of that, it’s a great alternative to social media.
With this is mind, you don’t have to feel awkward trying to fit into the social media crowd Instead your audience will come to you which leaves you room to be more comfortable within your own environment whenever you reply to their comments.

Come Up With A Plan Of Action For Promotion
Blogging is a great way to personally brand yourself.
But also you must be able to promote your blog so that your audience know that you exist.
This is the step that many bloggers tend to not take seriously.
They create content, publish it, promote for a few days, and maintain the same routine over and over again expecting to get better results each time.
But it really doesn’t work like this unless you already have a big following.
You want to come up with a plan of action that allows your blog to be seen on all four corners of the blogging world by your target audience.
Remember the goal in this sense is to make yourself and your blog the target that your potential audience is looking for.
When you have your blog posts referencing to the main message of the blog, leveraging an everyday promotional plan will allow you to get more of the targeted traffic needed to keep progressing.
Use Blogging Communities As An Alternative To Social Media
There are many people that can instantly connect with a lot of people within their niches through the use of Social Media.
They have this magical sense of building rapport with people as though they’ve known them since their grade school days.
But for others of you, it may not be that simple.
You feel awkward, and it doesn’t come naturally with you. As a matter of fact you may feel like you’re forcing yourself just to say a simple “Hello” to others.
A great alternative to social media would be the use of Blogging Communities.
With Blogging communities you can connect with others in more of an indirect approach.
You write a blog post, publish it within the blogging communities, and wait for comments so you can reply to them.
One tactic that helped me to get this going was going to other blogs and leaving comments. Not only did I get replies, but also the more serious bloggers came to my blog post to reciprocate the same.
With consistency you can build a nice following as you and others within these communities support each other making it a win/win for everyone.
I also listed 5 blogging communities you can use in the post How Can Solopreneurs Promote Their New Blog Posts.
Monitor Your Traffic Stats By Using Tools Like Google Analytics
You can create your goals but there are times where you’ll have to do some modifications to them.
There’s no use of doing the same thing over and over again expecting to get better results within a certain limit of time.
When you’re not progressing with your blog, you want to figure out why?
For example, there may be some blog posts that are getting better results than others.
So the question is how could you determine this?
To do this, you want to use analytic tools like Google Analytics.
This tools allows you to see which blog posts are performing well, why other’s are not, shows you which sites are giving you the most traffic, the average number of visitors coming to your blog per month, and much much more.
There are different metrics you can use, which are different measuring statistics within Google Analytics that allows you to measure your blog’s performance.
You may also want to test and see how each of your blog posts are performing wherever you share them online.
You can get clues as of what sites or groups on social media is giving you the best traffic versus others.
If you use paid ads, you may also want to see which ads within your marketing campaigns gives you the best results.
This would be another great utilization of Google Analytics to see what ads or social media groups you want to focus more on and you can achieve this via Google URL Builder.
If you’re dominant trait is introversion, it doesn’t mean that your options are small.
You may get intimidated by those extroverted bloggers who seem like they have the world in their hands.
But you know what?
They’re doing what works best for them as you will do the same.
And one mindset change is to think of yourself as the target in order to attract your target audience.
Using the strategies and alternatives here will definitely give you enough leverage to not feel so intimidated by those successful extroverted bloggers.
You just have to be consistent with these strategies as well as track the performance of your blog posts.
These aren’t the only strategies out there but they will definitely give you a head start.
