If you want to get anywhere as a blogger and entrepreneur, one of the skills you want to become better at is being persuasive. Persuasiveness is one of the key ingredients to becoming successful, and no, it has nothing to do with tricking people into doing something they don’t want to do. Let’s see the real meaning of being persuasive and how you use it more in your writing….
If you want to be more persuasive in your writing, you want to be more empathetic towards your readers. You want to be able to understand what they’re going through, relate to their struggles, create a bridge to the solutions, and pull back when need be.
When it comes to being persuasive, it has nothing to do with tricking people into doing something they really don’t want to do. It has a lot to do with guiding them into the direction where that’s going to help them make a sound decision for themselves. This is actually what sales is.
How do you guide them?
By knowing your readers. Knowing their struggles as a blogger and as a entrepreneur and based on that, asking the right questions that’s going to lead them to your solutions that you provide.
You want to be able to get into their minds by listening to what they have to say. You can find this out through their comments or if they approach you online. Being able to be on the same level as your readers will definitely make you more attractive to them.
As you strengthen your internal magnet through your thoughts and words, you’ll notice a shift in your results. In order to do this, you want to be on the same mental level as your readers, depending on who you are targeting. So how do you do this? Here are 5 ways I found to be useful:
Speak The Voice Of The People
Strengthen your writing by being understand the emotions that your readers are experiencing. You want to be able to tap into the thoughts of your readings and ignite those emotions that they are currently experience.
Put those emotions into your writing. Show your readers that there is actually someone that understands how they feel. Your readers are going to respond to different situations and goals using different emotions. But for the most people these emotions stem from fear.
So be that voice for your readers. Represent those readers who have a hard time expressing themselves as well as those that feel like they’re the only ones going through their experience. These readers will definitely appreciate it.
Write About Your Experiences
Everyone has their own story, but our experiences are really similar. Talk about the experiences you had as a blogger and entrepreneur. The majority of us had a ton of failure and definitely successes. Your story will show that there is always a way to get out “the hole”.
Your stories will give your readers hope for themselves. Especially if your story is exactly theirs. These experience will have your target market of readers locked into their seat, giving full attention. Have you ever read blogs like this? How did it make you feel?
Talk About The Solutions
This is what your readers will be waiting on. You talked about all of your failures and you talked about your successes. Now what about that middle section? Your readers are still glued to their seat for this.
Solutions are what bridges failures to successes. Your readers will definitely want to know each step you took to cross over that bridge. Some of them will be ready to get going, while others will be hesitant.
Emphasize The Consequences Of Not Taking Action
These are for those readers who are hesitant to take some action. Showing them the consequence of not taking any type of action will keep giving them the results that they don’t want. If they’re looking for a way to branding themselves well and generate leads and you show them a system that your using, but their hesitant to take any action, then you’ll show them they’ll be still getting the same results.
Question The Level Of Importances Of Getting Better Results
Ask how serious they are about getting better results. Why would your readers be blogging or have a home business if they’re not serious about getting better results. It would definitely be a waste of their time and money.
Your readers have two choices: either improve or go back to what they were originally doing, which the reason why they started a home business and blogging. Asking the right questions are a way to convince themselves to take the actions needed to move forward.
