Sometimes we can get so busy and so focus that we get so irritated when someone bugs us of what we deemed as petty. But does this gives us the right to be an asshole about it? Let’s see why it’s very important to be more approachable and more controlling over our emotions when we’re focused….
How many times have you been brushed off by people on social media? Usually people aren’t too understanding when they brush you off and it’s definitely not a great way to start good rapport.
When it comes to building a business, there’s a difference between a person that’s about business and a person that’s just a plain asshole. There’s those among us tend to mix up these differences. Sometimes we believe they’re one in the same.
When you’re about business, your peers and prospects can feel that you’re trying to help them and at the same time they also can feel that you’re not going to waste any time to help those that aren’t trying to help themselves.
As far as just being an asshole, well you believe building any building rapport and relationships is a waste of time and you’re only interested in those that are interested in your business and joining you.
Now the question is which one are you?
Are you the type that’s more open to people or are you just focus on making money off of people? With that said, what has benefited you the most?
Either way it goes you always want to build your magnet, which is the reputation, or persona that you put out for people to see.
Whether you’re doing business offline or online, the one thing that’s going to benefit you is being approachable. I’m not saying that everyone that approaches you is going to be the right fit for whatever you’re offering, but you also don’t want to set out a bad vibe towards others. You definitely want to come across as a leader instead of a dictator. Here are 5 types I came up with to help you check yourself and be more approachable:
Don’t Put Your Bad Pass Experiences On Others
There have been many times I’ve approach people, but they brushed me off and assumed that I was just trying to get them to look at my opportunity. If you been doing business on social media for a while, you probably have been approach by a lot of people who don’t want to build any type of rapport and only wanted you to look at their opportunity.
Now does brushing everyone off from the start going to benefit you in the long run because of those bad experiences? Whatever those bad experiences was, you may put people it off on those that are really trying to build rapport. Some may be understanding, why other’s may give you the middle finger. Why take the chance of burning bridges of those that may benefit you?
Give People The Time Of Day
Many marketers forget that business is about building good relationships. They become so focus on money that they forget to look at the fact that in order to make money, they need people. People are going to be the ones that are going make those investments in whatever you offer.
But despite that, you must give people the time of day. You want to see what they’re all about. This is how you’re going to build that internal magnet to attract others. Once people can feel that you’re genuinely interested in them, you’ll attract more people.
Don’t Look At People As The Next Financial Investment
Now, since you give people the time of day, do you just do it to see who’s going to be your next financial investment, or are you doing it to open a relationship and see how you can help them out?
Yes we all want to be financially free, but if you put out the vibe that people are your next financial investment, do you think they’ll feel that and be turn off from you? If they see that you’re trying to help solve their problems and actually explained that you’re going to get a commission and show them how they can do the same, then you’ll definitely will start seeing the reward behind this mindset.
Be More Open Minded Towards Other’s Tips
This is more about having emotional control over someone that is actually trying to help you versus ridicule you. It’s a must that you know the difference. How many times have you approach someone about your business opportunity without building rapport, they said no to your offer and gave you some tips on building rapport, and you took offense to it?
Now someone may have ridiculed you in the past but does that mean everyone is going to ridicule you by giving you tips? You may lost control of your emotions and insulted them quite a few times, but at the same time you’re giving yourself a bad reputation as someone not approachable and not willing to learn to improve.
Really Be Genuinely Interested In Solving People’s Problems
With this you really have to check yourself. Are you really trying to solve people’s problem or do you just want them to invest in your business, products and/or services? Again, keep in mind that people really do feel that you’re actually trying to help them or not.
You want to have the mindset of attracting people and not just how many people you can expose your opportunity to. Yes numbers are a big deal if you’re trying to build your business, and at the same time you want to look at how much value are you bringing to the table? Value makes you look even more approachable and having that approachable persona will show throughout your marketing campaigns and as well as your peers on social media.
