When it comes to words, we have to watch what we say because they’re the physical expression of our thoughts. Let’s see why this is so important and why it could either feed your success or failure…..
Do you know how powerful your thoughts are?
Your thoughts will determine what you will do with your life.
The root of all you do, your successes, your failures, your relationships, your emotions all goes back to your thoughts.
Now if you have a goal, it’s important to focus on the thoughts that’s going to vibe with your goal. What do I mean about vibe?
It’s like when you want to listen to a certain radio station. You have to be on the right frequency in order to listen to your favorite music. You tell yourself that you want to listen to R&B music and you’ll go to that radio station that radio station no matter what other stations are out there.
But you know what a lot of us do?
We tend to take a detour or do nothing at all.
We lose focus of our goal because we let ourselves get distracted even though we “should” be doing what it takes to accomplish our goals. But there’s that word: Should
How powerful is this word and how often do we use it?
Does this word really benefit us or keep us in a stagnant state of mind to where we don’t take action at all?
How does it compared to the word “must”?
Let’s look at the differences…
How Powerful Are The Words “Should” And “Must”
When it comes to that little voice in our heads or when we’re speaking to others, what we say can actually have a big influence to what we do. There are certain words that will get you to action while there are other words that act more like an obstacle.
There are certain activities you do, not just by habit, but because you “must” do it. When you use this word “must” it shows more certainty than the word “should”. It shows that you’re actually going to go ahead and do it, instead of making excuses why you’re not going to do or haven’t done it because of some poor excuse.
Have you ever talk to someone, they give you advice and you say “you know what, I should do that”, but do you actually go ahead and do it.
Now other other hand, you desperate for answers, someone gives you the same advice and your mentality is “I must do this or else…”. You go ahead and do this because you don’t want to suffer the consequences.
Why use the word “should” that’s going go to leave you open for excuses that’s going to hold you back versus focusing on the word “must” that’s going to push you forward?
The fear of using this word goes back to the fear of failure
You ask disempowering questions like:
-What if it doesn’t work
– What if they laugh at me
– What if I fail
– What if I get stuck
– what if, what if, what if….
But what if you can just get over this fear and let the energy of this word push you forward? Yes you may get some failures under your belt, but make it a “must” to learn from those failures so that you can move forward. Remember, people that say that they never failed at anything never tried anything new. You were meant for greatest, so lets start using empowering words like “Must” more often so that we can excel!
