If you’ve been blogging for a while, you probably noticed Commentluv Premium in the comment section of many blog posts.
The problem with many bloggers, especially newbies, is generating traffic. You’re either new on the seen with no traffic, or you’re blogging off and on with very few people visiting your blog. This can leave you anxious and frustrated when at first you don’t have a clue as to how you’re going to get visitors to comment.
Well here’s where Commentluv Premium comes into play! Commentluv Premium gives your visitors an incentive to leave a comment on your blog, which is quite attractive, especially for your target audience.
In this post I’m going to talk about this incentive and how it benefits you and your visitors. Also I will talk about other benefits and features with the Commentluv Premium plugin that will help optimize your blog even further.
“The Hows are the domain of the universe. It always knows the quickest, fastest, most harmonious way between you and your dream.” ~ “The Secret” Movie
When it comes to generating traffic, you always want to give something of value in order to get value in return.
This is what you call The Law Of Reciprocity and if there’s one thing Commentluv Premium is the epitome of plugins when it comes to this law.
If you want to attract people to your blog, you definitely want to give them good reasons to come to it. On top of that, you want them to keep returning and convert them into subscribers..
Now if any of this isn’t going well for you, then you may want to look into this plugin if you haven’t done so already!
So let me give you some of my reasons why I have this plugin installed on my blog before I go into the actual features.
Some Reasons Why I Installed Commentluv Premium On My Blog
As humans, selfishness is natural for us.
If we don’t see anything that’s going to bring any type of value to us, then we usually ignore it.
Now is this a bad thing?
Well it depends on how you look at it. If it’s going to keep us growing, become wiser, build a great reputation or great relationships then it’s not a bad thing.
Besides that, it can be a win/lose situation or get to the point where no one wins. And this is a no no.
In the case of commentluv premium , this plugin make it so that everyone wins!
This is what Andy Bailey, the creator, had in mind.
As I mentioned before, you always want to exchange value. Especially when it comes to your blog. Here are 5 of my reasons of why I installed this plugin.
- I wanted to generate more traffic to my blog
- I wanted to give people more of a reason to share my blog
- I wanted to build a great reputation among people within my niche
- I wanted to connect with my commenters as well as others
- Above all I wanted to build a loyal community
There are many that are having problems with just these 5. This may be you and this is something that you have yet to accomplish.
But here’s the one reason that really pulled me in a few years back and made me prefer sites with the commentluv premium plugin versus other commenting systems.
Whenever a visitor leaves a comment, it gives them a choice to choose a link from the last 10 posts they published to be shown right under their comment!
That got me excited because not only will this give visitors the incentive to comment, but it pushed me to look for other blogs with commentluv premium installed on it.
Now this may sound like a good idea for all of you newbie bloggers, but some of you veterans still have questions, especially when it comes to spam.
Since I’ve been blogging since 2010, I’m going to go into some questions that I myself may ask before I even think about investing in this plugin.
How Worthwhile Is Commentluv Premium?
If you’ve been blogging for a long as I have, then you probably been burned by a couple of plugins that you thought would be worth your time.
It really sucks that they would hype up a plugin, software, or service, but it had yet to meet any of your expectations. Yes, we hate it when we invest in something that under delivers!
But the one thing about commentluv is that it’s been around for about 5 years and there are a plethora of blogs and blogging community sites that use this plugin.
Yes there is a free version and a paid version, and it would be more worth your time to get the paid version because of the incentive and protection you get. So lets look at some questions that you may have if you’re sitting on the fence whether to invest in commentluv premium or not:
What Attractive Incentive Can You Use To Generate Traffic?
When you comment on a blog, one of the features that many of us veterans look for are dofollow blogs.
If you don’t already know, when you comment on blogs that has this featured enabled, you’re basically building a backlink to your blog.
Think of it as a bridge between two islands. If you want people to hop onto your island, they need a bridge to get over there. This would be great for other bloggers that visit and want to check out your blog, and also for search engines to rank you.
There’s also nofollow blogs which are set up so that these blogs don’t get any bogus links and get penalized by search engines. But I’ll talk about this later.
So what incentives are included in Commentluv Premium for your visitors to comment?
1. You Can Show Backlinks To Your Commenters Posts – As I mentioned before you can allow those that comment to pick and choose from the last 10 published blog posts they did to be displayed under their comment. Keep in mind that I said “allow”. You still have control over who gets this privilege!
2. Commenters Can Get Followed via their twitter username – You can also give your commenters the privilege to have their twitter username to be displayed for you to follow. They will see this as the TwitterLink field after they enter their name, email address, and site whenever they leave a comment
3. You Can Let Your Commenters Use Keywords – You can enable this feature, which allows your commenters to use keywords to link back to their site with. You can set this up for each user after they submit a number of comments. Once they reach the threshold, the keyword will turn into a hyperlink.
How Can You Protect Your Blog From Spam Comments?
As veteran bloggers, many of us had our fair share of spam comments. They leave one liners, are leave a comment that has nothing to do with the topic itself. Sometimes they don’t even have avatars.
Yes a lot of us have installed the Akismet to manage those spam comments, but when you install Commentluv Premium there is no need for this plugin anymore.
Commentluv Premium’s GASP (Growmap Anti Spambot Plugin) will do most of the work for you so that you don’t have to tediously manage the spam comments like you would with Akismet
How Can You Let Your Commenters Know You Replied To Their Comment?
When it comes to blogging, or just business in general, you want to be able to connect with others and build rapport.
As a commenter, I like to know when the blogger replied to my comment. I’ve been to quite a few sites where I leave a comment but the blog doesn’t give an option to check so I can receive an email letting me know if the blogger or anyone else replied to my comment.
This is where Commentluv Premium’s Reply Me Premium comes into play. You can set this up so that your commenters can receive an email whenever you reply or someone else replies to their comment.
Here’s an example of how it looks when someone replys and you get it in your email.
What If You Get Bad Backlinks From Commenters?
This was a problem I had throughout the years. I would get comments from different bloggers with valid blogs and websites, then all of the sudden their sites don’t exist anymore.
When this happens, search engines penalize you for this. This is the downside of enabling a dofollow blog. This is why whenever I share a link on my blog posts that isn’t internal to my blog I make sure to make it a nofollow link.
But Commentluv Premium has a way where you can set up a policy, or rules, for your commenters which helps prevent you from getting bad links.
Its called the Anti Backlinker and it has been very convenient for me to help fight against those bad backlinks which I had got into trouble with early in the previous year. Check out This post on what I did to get rid of the bad backlinks from my blog.
Here is a tutorial of what the anti backlinker does and how you can set it up
I’ve just gave you a general idea of what the commentluv premium plugin can do for your blog and some of the features of what you’re capable of doing with this plugin.
Like I said before, I generally got the plugin to get more visitors to come to my blog because it gives them the option to display one of the last 10 published blog posts they did.
I thought this was a great incentive, and the fact I can control who I give dofollow privileges to was even more convincing in and of itself!
There are a lot of benefits to this plugin, and personally I really have’t found any cons about it except for that it’s a paid plugin.
As of April 20, 2015 it’s $67 for a Single Site and $87 for Unlimited Sites. These prices can change in the future. So if you’re interest click on the link below which is my affiliate link.
Now It’s Your Turn!
