When making a decision to join an opportunity, are you concerned with either the price or the cost? Although these two words have been used interchangeably, they are totally different. Value is the key when joining a network marketing opportunity as well as any others. Lets go into more detail…

Do you believe you missed out on a lot of great opportunities because of the price of joining them?

As many of you know there are so many great network marketing opportunities out there that has proven to help many people reach success and there are more to come. These opportunities is one of the routes that you can take in order to achieve certain goals you made.

In this industry, once you get involved, for most it’ll take some time to grow their home business while other’s it won’t take anytime at all. But once you find something that you’re passionate about then nothing can stop you.

You’re going to be an advocate for the life of the company no matter what others may say against it. This is something that is a part of you and you’re going to make sure that you will become successful.

This is the mentality of a successful person and according to the Law of Attraction, this success will have to be attracted to you no matter what.

But here’s the problem when finding something that you really believe is a good idea and can find a passion for: Most Will Judge By The Price Of Joining An Opportunity Versus The Value It Gives.

Why Is It Not A Good Idea To Only Judge By The Price?

There are a lot of free opportunities out there that can definitely help you reach success. You’re saving money of course by either not paying an initiation fee or a monthly fee and you can definitely develop a passion with them.

They can definitely be a great benefit for all those who do not have the money to join a network marketing company or any other opportunities that require a couple of hundred dollars or more to start.

There are also others that you can start for as low as $25 or less to join and also you can develop a passion for them and become successful.

But the problem is that many people only join them because they are cheap or free to join. It’s pretty hard to develop a valuable passion for an opportunity coming from a cheap mindset.

The sad thing is as a result of having a cheap mindset, you will more likely drop out of the opportunity, especially when you run into obstacles. This is just as bad as someone paying for an opportunity only to make more money without any real strong reason why they want to make more money.

What do you think is the difference between someone who will pay $500 with their last check for an opportunity they strongly believe in, the product or services makes sense and finding a true passion for versus someone who pays $49 to join an opportunity because its a lot cheaper and they just wanted to test it out to see if it really works?

Who’s going to stay to become successful and why?

Who’s going to overcome the obstacles and turn them into stepping stones to succeed?

Who’s going to keep jumping to every “Next Great Thing” opportunity costing them more and more money each time?

Which opportunity would be better to find success in no matter what the price is?

If you’re going to get involved in an opportunity as network marketing it’s very important to your success to pick a company that you feel will benefit you in the long run, but much more important, that really makes sense and can develop a passion for. Not only will you stay focus, but with the passion you will be able to easily transfer that feeling to others. This will open the gates to sponsor more people under you and grow your business.

Many of you feel that money and currency are the same thing. But let me ask you this: Which is more valuable: $100 dollars of cash or $100 of Silver?

Money and currency has been the hop topic for over 2500 years, but can you really describe the difference?

Money and Currency is something we heard of all our lives and yet we’ve used these two words interchangeably, especially the word Money quite often. But yet there is a difference, Go Figure!!!

If you’re in the network marketing/MLM industry your ultimate goal would more likely to be financially free. We all want to make a monthly income of at least $10,000, $25,000, $50,000 or whatever it may be in order to come out of our current financial status.

But when it comes imagining that monthly income, what is the first thought that pops into your head? If you were like me, more than likely it was the dollar bill cash that you see on rap videos. We all want that PAPER!!!

Now comes the question. Is that PAPER actually money or is it currency?

Well, lets get a better understanding by digging into the past a big

MONEY AND CURRENCY HISTORY

Thousands upon thousands upon thousands of years ago ancient people use to barter, which mean trading goods with other goods. So I could probably get one cow for a dozen chickens and so forth.

As the bartering system went on Gold and Silver were also use for trade. Gold and Silver were used for trade for thousands of years, all the way up until around 680 BC in ancient Greece. Around this time, the ancient Greeks Minted these two metals into coins, which in turn led it to be considered Money. The reason it was done was to make trade much easier and smoother.

Now Paper Currency as we know it today, wasn’t really used not until the early 1700’s in France. The Duke of Orleans was placed as regent (Temporary King) and saw that France’s economy was in bad order because at the time it was so deep in debt that taxes couldn’t cover it.

John Law who actually came from scotland, actually introduced paper currency to The Duke of Orleans, which help France to pay back it’s debt which made John Law a hero and as a result he was granted many perks such as being given a bank and the right to issue paper money.

Now in the USA, Paper Currency was always backed by Gold and Silver. But in 1964 Silver was taken off, and around 1971, Gold was taken off. Since then our paper currency has not been backed by anything.

What does this mean?

This means inflation! Meaning if you’re not able to purchase as much as you did with $100 five years ago compared to today, then the purchasing power of that $100 has been diminishing.

A great example are the gas prices. Remember about 10 years ago you could fill your take up with just $15? Now it takes about $40 dollars to fill up your tank. That’s one big increase in price. Inflation ain’t no joke!

Still confused on the difference between Money and Currency yet? Well lets get down to it.

Currency

Up until now, the majority of you probably thought that Currency and Money is one of the same. Well it’s not. When you get your cash from the bank, or when you cash your paycheck, that cash is actually currency, not money. Currency is actually a medium you would use to exchange for something of value.

Medium is a key word. The word Currency is derived from the word current, and you can compare it to an electrical current. It must keep moving or else the current will die. So basically you use your cash to transfer value from one asset to another. Currency is not valuable in and of itself.

Money

Now unlike currency, money is valuable in and of itself like Gold and Silver for example. Another great thing about money is that it can be used also as currency, but not the other way around since currency isn’t valuable in and of itself.

Yea, this can be hard to grasp, but think of it like this. Going back to the first question I asked about the $100 of cash. Is it the paper of the cash worth $100. Not at all!

That paper is the representation of a value that’s stored somewhere else. And up until 1971, it was Gold and Silver. Now our paper currency is backed up by nothing, which causes inflation as a result. Our US government is just printing paper currency at will. Many of you may call it counterfeit but our government calls it the “fiscal policy”. The correct term for our paper currency is called fiat currency.

If you were to pull out your American dollar you will see at the top it reads “Federal Reserve Note”, which means it fiat currency. Before 1964 it used to read “Silver Currency” meaning it was backed by Silver.

What Can You Learn From This?

This was definitely to educate you on the difference between money and currency. Gold and Silver have had purchasing power over other hard assets for over 4500 years. Yes since the ancient Egyptians.

The one thing that most of us want is the purchasing power to enjoy the things that our societies have to offer. The thing that destroy most of the societies of the past was inflation, which mean those societies made a system using fiat currency.

Those that were smart and survived invested in Money and held it. This is why so many smart investors are looking into Gold and Silver because of our economic situation.

There are so many network marketers but yet the majority are having problems sponsoring people. What is the minority of network marketers are doing in order to attract so many people and sponsor them?

How many of you really have a tendency to brag about specific successful people in your company? Well you have every good reason too.

These people deserve the status for all the hard work they put in. They are the people that we all should look up to because they have obtain the success that the majority dream of.

When you get to actually meet them in person at one of your events, they are pretty much on celebrity status. The majority of network marketers get nervous when they can actually talk to them in person.

But the fact of the matter is, these are regular people who some have come from humble beginnings. So what is it about them that make the rest of network marketers look at them as if they are God?

How is it that whatever company they go to, the majority of people that were following them or heard a lot about them actually join up under them?

Are they the present day pied piper or do they practice mystical magical spells of ancient times to lure people to them?

Well I guess the last question was silly, but these people are sponsoring people left and right which still leaves the question, what are they actually doing?

True Case Scenario

I had just joined up with a company in May of 2011 because I really like the product and the concept behind it. I really get excited when I receive the product(s) via mail every month because it’s always something new.

Plus I really love the leadership with The Company. We have a plethora of successful people in The Company who not only talk the talk but actually walk the walk. I’m so grateful for their support as well as the support of my team members.

Toward the end of June of 2011 one of top producers left and joined another company. No hard feelings here because I still love the company and the products.

I happened to run into someone who happened to be in the same company as the top producer that left my company. We had a nice conversation up until this person started bragging about the leader that left my company and went to theirs.

This top producer has already BRANDED himself quite well in the industry as a whole.

But here’s the problem.

If you’re bragging about a top producer in your company instead of trying to BRAND yourself well, wouldn’t you think others will have a tendency to join under that top producer instead of you?

The Key is Branding!

If you want to do well in this industry, especially online, then it’s best to brand yourself well in order to attract people to you.

How do you BRAND yourself?

Branding takes take some time, but the best way from my experience, is to find out what problems that the majority are having so that you can provide solutions for them.

If the problem is talking to friends and family, you can demonstrate an approach that you use that’s been working. Or maybe the problem is getting leads. You can show others an online marketing system thats working for you in order to get leads for your business.

Whatever the case may be, show others that you have some knowledge, but more important than that, show others that you care about their needs.

Once people see that you care and have some solutions for their own problems, then they are more than likely to follow you. It’s just as simple as that!

So as a recommendation, before you mention any top leaders in your company, you may want to find out more about the person you want to sponsor and see if your company or your strategies would be solutions to their problems. You make yourself attractive and look like a leader by branding yourself like this.

Many of you are so focus on lack that it’s hurting your business. If you’re not more focus on growth then you are retrograding. Like one of my professors quoted “You may be pointing the finger, but you have 3 fingers pointing back at you”. Lets go more into detail…

Have you notice that successful people do not have a lack mentality in this industry? Even in a dire need of finance, with their backs up against the wall, successful people still keep their dreams alive by staying focused on them.

There is a sense of abundance in the mentality of successful people. They know that even though the news may say that there’s a “recession” or we’re in a “bad economy”, there are many ways to come out of it and they stay focused on those ways even though their dreams haven’t been manifested yet.

The problem is that the majority of people don’t think like this. Since children and as the years go by, the majority of people become more and more attracted to the negativity around us. It’s gotten so bad that it’s even called “Keeping It Real”.

Is it really “Keeping It Real” by shielding yourself from what’s positive? Or is that characteristic of a scarcity mentality?

Do you really want to live in a negative state of mind for the rest of your life in order to be accepted by others?

What Determines A Lack Mentality?

I remember when I first got into the network marketing industry and how I was exposing just about anybody to my business. Although it was a bit nerve wrecking for me, I still did it because I believed in the service and I knew you could become successful in the company.

One of the common objections I would get was that it was too high of a price to start the business. Now keep in mind that it doesn’t cost as much to start a network marketing business as oppose to a traditional business. But either way it goes, if your first response to an opportunity is “how much does it cost”, that’s an indicator that you have a lack mentality.

There have been many of people who would join a business because it was a lot cheaper than the one that they were truly interested in. As a result, the majority fail because the passion for the business, products or services didn’t develop.

The big talk of today is the “bad economy” and there are so many people who are so focused on it and let that be the reason why they won’t either invest in anything or if they do invest in something the main reason is because it’s cheap without any interest for the business, products or services as mentioned. But on the other hand those with an abundance mentality will look at the “bad economy”, take their dollars knowing that it’s becoming less of value, and do something positive with it like roll it over into some type of Hard Assets thats going up in value for example.

If the hot topic of each time you watch TV or talk about around your friends is about the bad economy, unemployment, war in the middle east, gangs, or just anything negative, do you really think it’s going to help you get going with your business?

If you’re more focused on the problems more so than the solution, then success will seemed too far -fetched and unrealistic for you to attain.

Convert Your Lack Mentality to an Abundance Mentality

If you want to be successful in anything, you want a positive mentality of  the glass as being half way full rather than the glass as half way empty.

Although we’re not living in the same economy as compared to in the 1990’s or early 2000’s, there’s still options that anyone can look into in order to get ahead in life and business.

Whether it’s oil, silver, gold, real estate, stocks or whatever it may be, you will never be limited because there is always abundance around us. So stay positive, focus on your dreams, accept the solutions your interested and let success manifest itself to you.

The Teachability Index is a measure on how open-minded you are or how coachable you are. In this industry of MLM/Network Marketing that is a must, but few are even open to actually learn different ideas and techniques to build that business. Is that you? Lets find out….

If you are building your network marketing business the question that you may asked prospects is how coachable are they. The Teachability Index is really a measure of how successful you will be. it asks:

What’s your willingness to learn new information
What’s your willingness to accept change

Let me ask you:

Think back to a time when someone actually made efforts to try to give you advice or teach you something, did you really listen to them?

There are many of us that are really open and willing to listen to many people, and there are those who are so closed minded and not really willing to listen to anyone.

Now how do we figure out our teachability index? Basically you measure it on a scale of 1 to 10, where one is the lowest. Give yourself an honest evaluation on how willing you are to learn new information and how willing are you to accept change. Multiply those two numbers and that will give you a percentage of your teachability index.

For example:

Willingness to learn = 7
Willing to accept change = 6

7 x 6 = 42

So your Teachability Index would be 42%
So your goal is to get as close if not right on %100 teachability index.

Now going back to the first question when I asked to think back to a time when someone made the effort to give you advice or teach you something. Were you really open, hesitant, judgemental, or thought you were a Mr./Ms./Mrs. Know-It-All? Did you give the information the attention that it deserved?

In 2 previous post I talk about The Training Balance Scale and The 4 Stages Of Learning. In these two blogs I mentioned what you should focus on the most when it came to the Training you go to and the actually process of when you learn something. The Teachability Index is the holding foundation of these two because in order for you to go through the process of learning and have some focal point, you have to be teachable.

Many people get to a point in life to where they’re getting the same results, even though they want better results, they don’t keep their ears open for any “tweaking” to get the results that they want.

If this is you, then you have a real low Teachability Index.

Here are some things that many people say that have a low Teachability Index comparied to those that have a high Teachability Index.

“Hey I got it, I finally Understand” instead of “I’m getting this and I look forward to learn more”

“I can’t do that” instead of “It’s a real challenge for me now but eventually I’ll be able to do it”

“No one can’t do that” instead of “It may seem like it can’t be done, but it’s possible”

“I already know how to do that” instead of “I have experience and I’m open to any suggestions to make it better”

Many of you have of this saying “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results.” So focus on being teachable, learn and take some type of beneficial action, although sometimes we take in so much information that we can’t take in any more. The point is to focus on keeping your Teachability Index high so that you can achieve what you want.

We all go through the 4 stages of learning which forms the habits we currently have. But there are some habits that benefit us and there are others that don’t, but the question is what habits do you want to form in order to become successful at whatever you do?

The 4 stages of learning are the actual habits, good or bad, that are formed within our subconscious mind. Knowing these stages will give you the understanding of why you do the things you do in your mlm network business as well as any other businesses you may be involved in.

So think about this…

Many of you took a foreign language when you were you in school.

The majority of schools require you to take a couple of years of some type of foreign language which is great.

Some of you went to the extent of taking 4 or 5 years of the foreign language.

Some of you really enjoyed it, and as a matter of fact some of you have gotten good grades in the classes.

Now if you didn’t maintain speaking and hearing that foreign language, what happens?

You start to forget a lot of what you “learned”

This applies in anything that you “learn”.

The 4 Stages Of Learning: Reaching the Automatic Goal

The 4 Stages Of Learning is the process of true learning. They are unconscious incompetence, conscious incompetence, conscious incompetence, and unconscious competence.

When I say Reaching the Automatic Goal this is where you automatic do an action that you put an effort into learning whether it was in grade school or some other way.

For example:

Lets just say you wanted to learn the language of the Choctaw People of the United states. You went to school to learn their language and you actually lived within the Choctaw nation picking up the slang and customs.

It’s gotten to the point to where if you happen to meet a person in a totally different area of the world who is of Choctaw decent that actually speaks the language and they actually spoke to you in their language and you automatically answer them back without thinking about it.

What’s the point:

The point is that you want to create the habits that will benefit you in your business. You want to have the habits that top producers do in order to reach their level, right?

In a post I did on The Training Balance Scale, I talked about what you should focus on the most “The Why” or “The How To” in order to be successful. Just to add, The positive habits that you have will build the belief system in order to leverage the Law Of Attraction so that it will work for you.

So lets go into the 4 Stages Of Learning

The 4 Stages Of Learning: Unconscious Incompetence

Many people have not heard of the Choctaw Indian people of the United States. These people lived in the areas of Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana, and Arksansas for centuries. They had their on language, culture and government.

When it comes to this many of you were probably unconscious of them, and do not know their languages. You don’t know what you don’t know which is the level of unconscious incompetence.

The 4 Stages Of Learning: Conscious Incompetence

Now that I told you that there is an Indian People called the Choctaw and they have their own specific language, now you’re conscious about them.

But if a person from this nation were to actually walk up to you and start speaking to you in their native language, you’re not going to understand a word that they say, meaning your incompetent when it comes to speaking their language

Conscious Incompetence is where you’ve been taught something but it’s all just data to you that just doesn’t make sense, but as the learning process progresses you are open minded and want to learn more.

The 4 Stages Of Learning: Conscious Competence

This is the stage to where you’re starting to learn more about the culture and language of the Choctaw People. If someone speaks to you in choctaw you may ask them to repeat a couple of times. And to answer them back, you may have to think about what you want to say before you say it so that they can understand.

So when it comes to Conscious Competence, this is the level to where your learning a type of information or action, but yet you have to think about the information or action before performing it as with the Choctaw language.

The 4 Stages Of Learning: Unconscious Competence.

This is the goal you want to reach. Not only can you speak the choctaw language but you know the customs and culture like the back of your hand. You can have a deep conversation with someone who speaks the language without really thinking about it. Everything just comes out automatically.

The Unconscious Competence stage is where everything you learned is saved in your subconscious mind. Without even thinking about it, you can automatically perform the action.

The 4 Stages Of Learning: The Value and Applying

Many of you who have an MLM Networking Business or any other business have certain habits that influences your success. There of course are the habits that are beneficial to you and there are the one’s that are detrimental to you.

Leveraging the 4 Stages Of Learning, you want to ask yourself what habits are you creating and are they helpful?

If you have a habit to always listen to negative coworkers, come home and watch TV the majority of the time and listening to negative news or the latest celebrity gossip, is a habit that’s going to be a positive influence on you, your thinking, and your business?

So ask yourself, according to the 4 Stages Of Learning what habits do you want to create thats going to help you stay focus on your goals and dreams?

Here are some suggestion:

Reading good personal development books
Listening to good influencial CDs
Keeping a journal of your goals and dreams, writing in them everyday.
Being around positive people
Showing appreciation everyday.

Then a while later another visitor shows up and looks around a for a couple of minutes then they leave without spending much time on your site. Odds are this is occurring more than you think. For whatever reason, the majority of visitors leave before doing whatever it is you want them to do.

If you are tracking visitors you will be able to find out just how good your website really is. One of the worst things that could happen with your visitors is when they really are interested in what you have to offer and do not take the action you want them to take when they do arrive at your site. Maybe your site is hard to navigate and they somehow got lost, maybe they got confused and frustrated. If your website just isn’t as good as it could be, you might be losing money. A site is never finished and that is why top marketers are constantly tweaking their site to try to improve the response to their promotions. Most webmasters do that almost everyday to convert visitors into more revenue.

If you are tracking visitors properly it takes out the guess work. Guessing is what most people do and they base their changes on that. Chances are you may not guess the correct answer and you could wind up making things worse which might cause your sales and profits to actually decrease. It’s among the biggest reasons most people do not make much money. Basing your marketing decisions on guesswork can be a sure-fire way to go broke. However, if you have a tracking system set up that can tell you what your visitors are doing after they arrive at your site, it will be relatively easy to resolve your problems.

When tracking visitors it’s extremely important to know how your various ads and promotions are working for you. It’s also just as important to track what your visitors are doing when they arrive at your site. With the proper tracking system set up you’ll be able to start with your homepage and you could focus on tweaking one page at a time until your sales are where they ought to be. If you are tracking everything you will know what is generating success and what is not. The bottom line is, you do not need to be wasting a great deal of time, effort and money advertising your website if it won’t do an effective job of converting visitors into revenue. That’s why tracking visitors is so important for your success.

Marketing on Craigslist is a great way to get more exposure to your business opportunity.

Many people have forgotten how powerful Craigslist can be to get exposure to their businesses.

This site get’s a lot of traffic because it’s one of the top, if not number one site that people go to besides their local newspaper to look for opportunities. You can find just about any opportunity nationwide within this site and its very user friendly.

Literally marketing on craigslist is something that you can show your team members. Remember, the best way to grow your team is to use and show an easy to follow strategy that can be use by team members whether they are directly under you or 100 levels under you.

Why?

Well have you ever tried to explain how to do the quadratic formula to a second grader?

It’s pretty difficult, especially for the fact that they might not even know their times tables yet.

But besides that, by marketing on craigslist you can get a bountiful of targeted leads who are more likely open to your opportunity. I personally will put out a couple of ads every couple of days, and so far I’ve been very successful getting positive results.

So you’re probably wondering what steps you need to take in order to find success for yourself right?

Lets get into what steps you can take in order to be successful in marketing on craigslist.

STEP 1 – SET UP GOOGLE VOICE ACCOUNT

This is a very important step because it helps keep you well organized with all the leads you’re going to attract. Setting up a google voice account is FREE and easy to do. Just go to http://www.google.com/voice to set up the account. Once you set it up, it will ask you to set up your voice mail right then and there, but you can always set it up later. To so, you want to:

1. Click on the icon that looks like a “gear” you’ll find on a bicycle which is located on the top right corner of the site.
2. Click on “Voice Settings”
3. Click on “Voice and Text”
4. Click on the first “Record New” button and follow the steps

STEP 2 – SET UP VOICE MAIL GREETING

Here’s a great voice greeting I use that I got from Ron Gelok:

“Hello There, thank you for calling the office of (Your Name). If you are calling this number it’s most likely from the ads on craigslist. We are currently receiving high volume of calls. Please leave your name, number, and what separates you from all the other people calling this add and you will be contacted within 48 hours.”

STEP 3 – SET UP AND POST YOUR AD

With craigslist I advice that you set up about 2 or 3 accounts because sometimes your ads can get flagged, put on hold, or deleted. If this happens, no big deal, it’s all a part of process in marketing on craigslist. It’s really great to post in your local area, especially if you have meetings every week so you can invite your leads.

Here’s an ad I used:

Title – Looking For Reps

No Experience Required, Training is available
$500 – $1000 per month part-time
Call (909) xxx-xxxx (Your Google Voice Number)

I usually post my ads in the job postings under sales or marketing.

WHAT TO SAY TO YOUR LEADS WHEN THEY LEAVE A VOICE MESSAGE?

I bet that you were wondering what do you say when you call back your leads. Before I get into that, the first thing you must have is POSTURE. You may want to ask yourself, if you were the other person, would you rather do business with someone who wasn’t confident with no back bone, or would you rather do business with someone who was confident and very sure of themselves that they will be successful with or without you?

Having the mentality that you have the “keys to success” creates a lot of curiosity and attraction from your leads. If someone says no to your opportunity, no big deal, you will still have a lot of leads coming in from all your ads on craigslist.

Marketing on Craigslist is a free strategy and the site itself gets high volumes of traffic,  but keep in mind it still takes time to build your business. Once you get the gist of marketing on craigslist then you will be thankful that you added this to your arsenal.

If you’re in the industry, but yet you limit yourself from different strategies you can use, then why are you in the industry?

When you created your “Why” did you feel that you could achieve your goals via the industry?

Do you really feel passion about the company you’re with?

How about the products?

If you have the passion to fuel the urge to go out and do what you have to do in order to accomplish your goals, then success is right around the corner.

There are so many different strategies, both online and offline, everyone can use that it would be hard not to accidently run into success.

The one thing that is so great about this industry is that there are network marketers helping other network marketers even when they are not even in the same company!

These network marketers are sharing so much valuable information through conventions, blogs, PBRs, webinars, and even face to face without even trying to sponsor other network marketers into their own business.

But there is a problem though.

As much as there are skeptics outside of the industry, there are a lot of skeptics within the industry which is ironic.

If you are someone that believes that every network marketer you run into is really trying to sell you instead of help you, then you may want to question the strength of the belief within yourself.

Those that do not allow themselves to look beyond their limited beliefs will definitely not do well in this industry.

In order to be successful in this industry you have to be more open minded to the possibilities that will allow you to progress.

So why would you be in network marketing if you’re not networking?

It’s great to be cautious of those who are trying to recruit you into their opportunity but the true network marketers really are genuinely interested in you and your progress. You can tell how successful one is by the questions they ask you in order to get to know you.

If you want to have better results, then be more open and learn about what others are doing in order to grow your business.  There’s a multitude of strategies you can pick, choose, and implement to help you along your journey.
