When it comes to growing your home business, there are a plethora of strategies that you can use. You have face to face, solo ads, PPC, bandit signs, and the list goes on. The problem is that there are some people who think their way is the only way and this can be detrimental to your team. Let’s see why it’s important to keep your teams options open as far as strategies….
One of the marks of a great leader is not limiting the individuals on your team. He or she is one that will guide their team so they can find their own in leadership. By doing this, the leader will lead by example as well as point them in the direction that’s going to help them be successful.
It is up to those followers to shoot for that direction and take action. It’s not up to that leader to make them successful, because success is their choice. We all hear this many of times, and to a lot of us it sounds like a broken record. But when it comes to being successful, it needs to be repeated.
But here is the thing that really is ironic….
If you want to be successful, you want to follow the blueprint of someone else that reached a level that the rest of us want to be on. The question is do we follow what that successful entrepreneur has done to the “T” or do we just follow the framework and use a strategy that’s aligned with each and one of us?
Now what’s so ironic about it is that as entrepreneurs, one of the vital characteristics of an entrepreneur is being unique and creative. This is what got a lot of people over, especially those who didn’t match the “stereotype” of what society branded of what an entrepreneur is.
So if you have a team of people under you, and you reached a certain level that each member of your team desires to be, then would that strategy you used work for each member? Would you limit them to that specific strategy?
The one thing that can cause attrition in your team is limiting each member to what they can do to grow their businesses. As there are so many strategies out there, and they all work, but would just one strategy out of the bunch be right for each member of your team?
For example, there are some people who love to prospect face to face and do quite well at it. And of course there are those that hate it to the max and as a result are horrible at it. Does this mean that they should get out of home business despite the other strategies?
We all heard that we need to get uncomfortable in order to be successful, but I believe a lot of people take that out of context. I believe what is meant by this is getting out of a routine and doing something different, especially if it’s going to help you grow your home business.
It’s like you wanting to be great at Martial Arts. In order for you to become great at it, you want to set aside some time to practice and become physically fit. On top of that, you may want to specialize in a specific style of Martial Arts like Tae Kwon Do, Shaolin Kung Fu, Karate, and so on and so forth. Just because you practice a different style doesn’t keep you from being a great martial artist.
So in this case as a true leader, it’s up to you to point your team in the direction of the strategies that’s going to resonate with them. Some may have a knack for calling cold leads while others may love doing solo ads. In either case, not following in your upline’s footsteps doesn’t keep you from being success.
Now It’s Your Turn!
Do you believe your team should only follow in your footsteps to become success or would this cause high attrition? Do you think your team should just follow a framework you lay out and find a strategy that resonates with the? Please share your comments below and share this post with your friends. I look forward to reading them!
