Before you do anything with your home business, you want to figure out who you are marketing to. The biggest mistake that I made was waste time on being consistent on marketing to the wrong people.
If you’re someone that’s putting in the time and effort on being consistent, but yet to no avail you’re not getting the results that you want, then this would be a good time to look at who you are marketing to. The target market makes a big difference.
This is why Niche Marketing is so important.
What is Niche Marketing?
Basically niche marketing is focusing on a specific market within the population and promoting your offers based on their needs, wants, and requirements.
So if you’re product are diapers for example, are you going to market it to everyone that breathes, or are you going to market to new moms and those moms that are expecting? It will definitely be wise to spend your time and money on marketing to those new and expecting moms.
What Is The Problem That A Lot Of People Run Into?
When I first started, I was told to market to my target market. I had no idea what that meant. Then I was taught to market to those who are going to be most interested in my offers.
Still I had no clue.
Then all of a sudden, I got on a training and they told me exactly who to market to. They told me to market to other network marketers. So I did, but to no avail I wasn’t getting the results I wanted.
So what gives?
The main reason was I really didn’t know why and what was the value behind it. I didn’t figure out why would I market to someone that already have a business? That’s when I actually looked at myself and ask why did I get on this webinar and by this program on how to grow a my network marketing business at the time?
Then it struck me!
I was looking for answers on how to grow a home business. They knew exactly where I go and what I was into on the internet. I was always on facebook, and I joined a couple of network marketing groups. Most people in those groups were struggling and also looking for answers.
Then that’s when I started to really focus on groups and other places within my Niche!
This is the same story that a lot of people go through when it comes to marketing their home businesses. They’re confused about who to market to, and when they get an answer they don’t know why and don’t get the results they want.
This is why it’s vital to really have a good understand of why it’s important to market to a specific market of people. This gives you confidence and put you in the know of what to do if you’re not getting the results you want.
Now what I like to do is to break down the people who to market to in order to get the biggest amount of traffic and leads. I currently do both affiliate marketing, network marketing and google adsense. They all compliment each other just for the fact I leverage them to build each other up. With that said, Here are 3 niches of people you ought to market to if you’re in home business or looking to start one.
People Who Are Involved In Home Business Or Those Looking To Start One
The will be your biggest niche market. There are a lot of people that have home businesses that don’t have a clue as to what to do in order to grow their businesses.
There is a lot of noise telling them what to do, but they’re stagnant in their businesses. When it comes to these people, value is the most important. You want to promote value and stay consistent with it. The more you promote value on how to grow a home business, the more they’ll pay attention.
And those that are looking, the value will give them an idea of what to look for and give them “projected gratification” on the steps they need to take to grow any home businesses. The value will install confidence and definitely will help build trust in you. This trust can result in you getting leads, business partners and sales.
People Who Are In The Industry Your Home Business Is In
To dig further, you want to market to the people in which your business is involved in. Let’s say your home business is in the finance industry. The type of value you want to promote is, of course finance.
Anything that has to do with building a financial portfolio such as stocks, bonds, retirement, life insurance, investment properties, etc…Focusing on finance in general will attract those people who are in this industry. You will get people that are already working in this industry as well as those who have home businesses in this industry.
People Who Are In The Niche Market Of That Industry
To dig even further, you can just focus on the niche market within that industry. So you have a home business within the finance industry and you’re a financial advisor. So lets say you’re in World Financial Group for example, although I’m not involved with them.
Your goal is to provide the value that’s going to help people to build a portfolio that will meet their financial goals. So you may want to focus on people who are looking to build their portfolios for when they reach retirement.
When it comes to retirement there’s a lot of confusion as well as information about it. You may just want to promote the information by simplifying the process so that they can have a better understanding of it and have a lot of self confidence by the time it comes. This will definitely make you look like a here and of course you’ll start getting the results you want. More so then if you were to spread yourself thin by trying to market to everyone.
