If you want to get great, targeted traffic, one of the great, traditional methods is putting an ad in the newspaper. But one thing is follow a particularly blueprint with a couple of rules so that you can optimize your ad to it’s best. Let’s see what you can do to get the best results……
Who said that Offline Marketing is dead?
When it comes to offline marketing, there are so many different strategies. Some of the strategies could be costly, while others are cheap.
But one thing is certain, and that is it is as much alive today as it was in the past. As a matter of fact some people prefer to answer an offline ad than an online ad. Usually they feel that it’s much safer and more personable.
If you really want to get great results for your business, there are some elements that need to be included in an ad, and some rules to follow. A lot of people do not take in consideration of what the customer is looking for and is the reason their businesses don’t grow.
When it comes to putting ads you, you want to look at it from a marketers/consumer point of view. Just because you have some hungry people in your niche, doesn’t mean they want to do business with you if your ad doesn’t follow a particular “blueprint”.
This is what attraction marketing is all about. You find out what attracts your niche market to whatever your offer is, and once you do that, you’ll have leads for days, weeks, months and years.
One of the great traditions of home businesses is putting an ad in the newspaper. When you use this resource, you have to remember that is a format and rules to follow if you want to get the best results from the newspaper. Let’s see what they are..
The job of the headline is to just get your prospects attention. That’s It! You want them to really do a double-take when it comes to your headline. There’s a couple of rules you need to know when it comes to a headline.
- The first two words are usually bolded – The headlines are in alphanumerical order (A before B, 1 before A, * before 1)
The goal is to intrigue them, not get them to buy. If you’re niche market is hungry, you want to have them “smell the aroma” coming from a delicious dinner that they want. They are tipically between 15 to 25 words and what you want to do is focus on the key benefits of your offer, not the offer itself.
CTA (Call To Action)
This is where you tell them exactly what to do if they want more information. It’s funny when I wasn’t doing this, I wasn’t getting any results. People like to be told exactly what to do or else they won’t take action at all.
Simply said, this is usually a website that you leave on your ad and/or your telephone number. I like to use Google Voice to have them leave a message so I can call them later.
This is very important because you want to see how well your ad is doing. There may be some changes you want to make so that you can get better results. I use MLSP to track the performance of my ads.
I like to leave you with this. One of the best resources you can use is Nationwide Newspaper . They have a special where you can get your ad advertised to 1 million people for just $180 dollars, and for better results, put a border around it for an extra $120 dollars. They pick the top 20 cities in the United States to place your ad and its a great way to test it’s performance.
Now It’s Your Turn!
