Probably the most nerve wrecking thing for a lot of us in the network marketing industry is approaching strangers offline. When your leaders talk about getting out of your comfort zone, approaching people offline is the perfect example.
There’s others of us that find it really easy to approach strangers but do not know what to say in regards to our network marketing home business. We go off about our network marketing businesses or we just get into a loss of words.
In either case we’re repelling people and success. We’re either hesitant on talking to strangers or we talking to much and as a result we repel strangers.
Now this can be definitely lower our spirits and confidence.
But time and time again you hear about people who had their backs against the wall and come out of it successful to become a person making 6 figures or more.
So it’s got to be possible to build this thing offline.
But how can you build up the nerve or just pique interest when talking to strangers?
How Do You Like For People To Approach You About Something You’re Already Interested In?
Let’s think selfishly for a minute.
Have you ever thought about how you would like people to approach you?
Is there a certain criteria you would like for them to follow?
Are there certain steps to pique your interest?
Buy asking yourself these questions and critiquing the person approaching you, you feel like you’re in control right? You’re a lot more comfortable and you feel as almost if the world is in your hands.
Now you are you are with people that approach you will determine how you feel when you want to approach people. If you’re rude to people when they approach you then you’re going to be very hesitant when you approach people right? Why? Because you feel they’re going to be rude to you.
Now if you’re nice and respectable to other’s that approach you, then you’re going to be more comfortable to approach people offline right?
So if you’re very hesitant in approaching others, or if you at a loss of words when approach people, then looking at yourself first and seeing how you like people to approach you will definitely help and give you some ideas.
The secret to approaching people successfully is to get them to talk about themselves. In any case, it’s human nature to want to talk about ourselves.
What if you can control the conversation?
When you ask questions to get people to talk about themselves, you have control of the conversation. Depending on the questions you ask, you can direct the conversation to find out what they’re looking for.
You can always start off with a compliment or ask about the current situation. You can then ask them what do they do for a living, how they like it, and what they would change as far as their job. Either they want to make a change or they won’t.
Either way it go, when you’re asking questions, the pressure is off of you, especially if you have the urge to try to convince. This will make your offline experience a lot easier where you don’t have to do all of the talking!
