Many of you are Visual Communicators because of the way you learn and process information. Let’s see what are the characteristics of Visual Communicators and how you can connect with them or determine if you’re one.

Have you ran into people that can talk a mile a minute?
Are you the type of person that wants the “big picture” instead of the details?
Do you like to be on schedule so things can start and end punctually?
Do you know of people who memorize through creating “Visual Pictures”?
If you or anyone you know are like this, then you or they are more than likely visual communicators. This is one of the four communication styles mentioned in Michael Losier’s book “Law Of Connection”. Any words or phrases that has to do with “sight” are commonly used by visual communicators. Here some common phrases taken out of the book:
I see what you mean.
That’s not clear enough.
Just give me the big picture.
I want to get a new perspective.
WHAT BUILDS OR BREAK RAPPORT WITH VISUAL COMMUNICATORS?
The one thing you ought to know when building rapport with a visual communicator is that they value TIME a lot. You want to keep things short and to the point. Here is a list of things that will build and break rapport with a Visual Communicator.
Builds Rapport:
Have an agenda
Keep meetings short
Get to the point
Give plenty of notice for postponing
Breaks Rapport:
Telling long stories
Holding long meetings
Asking them for detail information
Leaving long voice-mails or writing long emails
WHAT QUESTIONS TO ASK VISUAL COMMUNICATORS
The one thing you want to keep in mind is when it comes to building rapport, you want to ask the questions using the words or phrases that matches the other person’s communication style. If they answer the question with easy and quickly, then that’s a sign that you’re on the right track.
