The Training Balance Scale: What Would Be Better For You To Focus On To Be Successful?

  • Sharebar

Does it really bother you when you go to training and there’s more motivation than skill set being taught? Wouldn’t it great if there was a Training Balance Scale where both would be taught equally? Lets dig deeper…

The Training Balance Scale“Let a person radically alter his thoughts and he will be astonished at the rapid transformation it will effect in the material conditions of his life.” ~ James Allen

I’ve been listening to Kevin Trudeau and he mentioned The Training Balance Scale on the CD. For those that don’t know the Training Balance Scale it is how much should be taught between mindset and skill set.

So when you go to any of your Super Saturdays or Conferences the goal is to have a mixture of motivation/mindset/”your why” as well as technique/skills/”the how” when it comes to growing your business.

Now the question at hand is, should there be a 50/50 balance of each?

Training Balance Scale: The Theory

Now the theory is that when you go to these trainings, you should be a equal amount of training on both motivation and skill set. Not only will you have a positive mentality to go out and do the work, you will also have the necessary skills to get the work done and do it well.

So lets go a little deeper on motivation and skills…

Training Balance Scale: Motivation or Your “Why”

If you’re in network marketing or been to any type of personal development workshops, 9 times out of 10 the focus was on motivation and mindset.

If those meetings were mind blowing and exciting, they had the latest music playing in the background, and the speakers may have had picked some volunteers out of the audience do some amazing things like walk on glass on barefoot or walk through fire.

You’re hyped up, the crowd is hyped up, everyone is screaming, yelling and all pumped just to go out there and tackle any challenge and obstacle that gets in your way. Your spirits are high and nothing can’t stop you!

Once you get home your mindset is “LET’S GET IT STARTED!!!”

But there’s one problem….

Although you have all the Motivation in the world, you wasn’t trained on Skills and don’t know what Actions To Take.

Then, unfortunately,  your spirit starts to diminish

Now you feel stuck and deprived of what of what you feel is necessary for you to reach the top!!!

So now your goal is to get the skill set to be successful in your business…

The Training Balance Scale : SKILLS AND TECHNIQUE or The “How”

You find a training, and now you feel this is the gateway to accomplishing your goals. There’s so much information and you pick up a schedule of all the training thats going to be at the workshop.

You brought your notebook and pen ready to take notes.

You find a seat, and sit next to someone who seems like the Nerdy, brainiac type and they’re hyped up about the training thats about to happen.

Now the speaker is very logical and he gives you so much information that the majority of it goes over your head.

After about 2 hours into the training, your eyes and ears start to feel heavy. You notice everyone in the room is having a hard time staying awake. You start to see the same people go out of the room for a “Bathroom Break”, and even the brainiac looks impatient. You look at your watch and you’re dreading the fact that you have another 6 hours of this and the host say that they may go over.

This training was dreadful, but at least you got all the information you need right?

After the training, you go home, put your notes down, and never look at them again!!!

Why?

Now you don’t have the motivation to go out and TAKE ACTION!!!

The Training Balance Scale : MOTIVATION/SKILLS

Do you agree that there should be a 50/50 equal balance of motivation and skills when it comes to training to grow your business?

Well… Lets look at it from another Point Of View

There’s a saying:  “When the attitude is right The facts don’t matter”

Many of you have heard the story of Roger Bannister of England. If you don’t know, he was the first person to ever breaking the 4 minute mile in 1954 at the age of 25.

But here’s the kicker…

Up until 1954, many spectators thought it was humanly impossible to ever break 4 minutes in the mile run. Even though he didn’t do the vigorous training as compared to today’s runners, he knew and felt that it was possible to break the mile run. I mean this guy had a deep vision of breaking this record despite what anyone else said.

The funny thing….

After Roger Bannister broke the 4 minute mile, thousands of others have done it since then because of their belief level.

Training Balance Scale : So What’s The Point?

How many of you who are in MLM/Network Marketing/Online Marketing are doing a lot of the actions but yet are not getting he desire results that you want?

Going back to the saying:  “When the attitude is right The facts don’t matter” The Training Balance Scale

Roger Bannister loved what he did and he practiced and competed which helped to build his belief.

How many of you are doing the actions, enjoying them resulting in building your belief?

Now many of you are hustling and bustling with a frown on your face not getting the results.

But here’s a Question:

Are the actions that you’re currently taking something that you enjoy doing, or are you just doing it because someone told you thats it’s the best way of doing it if you want to get the results you want?

If your mind is focused on how much you hate the activity, is that going to build belief in what you’re currently doing?

And,

Have you found a passion for your company and it’s products or services?

According to the Training Balance Scale, to disspell the myth of having an equal balance of 50/50 motivation and skills, your training should be 99% focused on motivation, thoughts, feelings, dreams, mindset, Your “Why” more so then learning the skills and techniques.

So remember, whatever your dominant thoughts or mindset are,  will be manifested whether it be through verbal communication, facial communication, written communication, or whatever you come across, Law of Attraction is working with you.

    Sherman:

This is powerful. Like many people, in a previous business, I tried several marketing methods that other people recommended because I was told that they would work. But I didn’t enjoy myself. In fact I used to curse my computer because I was frustrated.

But now that I focus on a few marketing methods that I enjoy, it makes a huge difference. Learning skills is essential for success in network marketing. But if you don’t enjoy what you’re doing, you will continue to attract struggle and frustration with you business.

I’ll check out Kevin Trudeau’s book, The Training Balance. I’m interested to find out more. Thanks for sharing your take on it.

    Blessings,

    Hi Sherman,
I worked in retail for 11 years and they would have these “Rah Rah” type events to get the employees motivated. It didn’t work for me or many others for that matter.

I do agree that skills are needed in order to do something new and exciting with our lives. Motivation is great but we need to combine that by following what excites us the most.

Hey Justin, thanks for stopping by and you’re feed. I do believe whatever excites and motivates you no matter what action it is will benefit you in your ventures in the long run as oppose to what doesn’t.

The only time you are a leader is if you are an intelligent follower who takes action very similiar to the how the leader taught you how to do it. It is only by doing NOT by talking!

Great post! I hesitate to recruit people who attend Network Marketing events because as you mentioned that are “hyped up” and when they get home sometimes the excitement ends. To stay motivated you must constantly remember your why.
