Do You Want to be Wealthy? Learn This Rule…

It’s really about how much money you keep that counts!!

“No one can become rich without enriching others. Anyone who adds to prosperity must prosper in turn.” – G. Alexander Orndorff

Have you realized that there are two tax systems in place in the United States?

I know, I know, taxes isn’t the most exciting subject to talk about, but knowing how the tax system can work for YOU is one of the best kept secrets of the WEALTHY.

There is a system for those 9 to 5 employees which is your average American, and there’s a system for business owners. Hopefully you’re in the right system!

Since it’s tax season now, I’m reading Ronald R. Mueller’s “It’s How Much You Keep That Counts! Not How Much You Make.” which I believe that every home business owner in the United States should have in their library.

There are so many tax benefits that you can take advantage of as a home business owner that not even your average CPA doesn’t even know about them! On top of that the book is EASY TO READ for the average person unlike some tax books.

Here is a partial list of some of the tax-deductible expenses that you as a business owner can write off mentioned in the book:

Mortgage Interest or Rent

Gas, Electric, Water and Sewer

Cleaning Crews to Dust, Vacuum and Empty Trash

Computers, Copiers, Fax Machines and Telephones/Cell

Paper, Pens, Ink Cartridges and Postage

Desks, Sofas, Coffee Tables and other Furniture

Painting, Wallpaper, and other Repairs/Remodeling

Newspapers, Magazines, Books and On-line Media,

Plane Fares, Hotels, Meals, Rental Cars while traveling

Dinners, Ball Games and Theater Entertainment

Security Alarms, Hidden Cameras

Health, Dental, Disability and other Insurance

Company Cars and even Boats,

Contributions to Employee Retirement Plans

Pest Control and General Maintenance

Holiday Cards and Gifts

This is a pretty exciting list so far. On top of that this book helps you create a BUSINESS PLAN, giving you a daily routine you can follow to grow your home business.

But the one thing that you want to keep in mind, is that as long as there is AN INTENT TO MAKE A PROFIT and can prove this, then you will be able to use these tax benefits. This is why it’s highly recommended to have a business account through your bank or credit union to prove this.
TO YOUR SUCCESS!!!

    Hi Sherman,

Thanks for this great post and the reminder! It makes perfect sense to have a home business even just for the tax write offs alone. You would get an instant pay raise without having to go to your boss and ask for one. Like you say, as long as you intent to make a profit, you’re good to go. And who would start a business anyway and not intent to profit from it.

Great list, by the way. Some of those I haven’t even thought of :)

    Hi Sherman,
You’ve got some good training here. I don’t want to think about taxes yet, but I’ll tell you this, doing my taxes in Network Marketing as opposed to the traditional businesses I’ve been in with employees and overheads and inventories is Soooo much easier than the alternative. I love this industry. It’s simple.
    Thanks again Sherman…..see you around

      Hey Janet,
I’m glad you were able to stop by. I’ve heard that doing taxes and yet other things can be a headache with traditional businesses. This is once reason why a lot of entrepreneurs make the switch from traditional business to a network marketing business. You have a great day!

    Hi Sherman,

This is a great post. I live in the UK so our tax laws are slightly differnet but its always worth asking questions to find out how much UK home business owners can keep. I will share this around Facebook and Twitter as I know lots of people will get a lot of benefit from reading this.
