8 Ways To Create A Great Blog

  • Sharebar

Have you ever been on someone’s blog and felt like a dunce?

I mean they’re talking about nothing but technical jargon like SEO, Conversion Rates, Alexa ratings, Plugins, Dofollow blogs, DNS, Google bots, etc.. The information can be overwhelming, especially for a beginner.

Have you ever read a blog that you just can’t relate to?

You feel like you’re on the “outside of the circle”. Everyone in the comment section seems to relate to it except for you. It’s one thing to keep an open mind and learn something new, but it’s another thing if it’s far beyond what you already know.

Have you ever seen a blog that looks like a big puzzle?

The blog has so many designs, links, tabs, popups, that it can be a challenge just to get to the blog post itself.

Have you ever seen a blog that looks boring and plain?

This can be a real turn off from the get go. There’s nothing in the blog that’s attractive and within the first 3 seconds of clicking on it, you make the decision to leave.

Before I write a blog, the first thing that comes up to mind is how am I going to connect with everyone in my niche market. I want everyone who comes to read my blog to be able to relate to it and at the same time gain some value.

Well I made a list of 8 ways you can make your blog more attractive

1. Attention Getter (Title and first sentence)

Now the Title and first sentence is going to determine if your reader decides to stay.
It’s very important to pique the interest of your reader and you do this by researching
what everyone is talking about and the problems they’re having.

2. Create A List

A list is very beneficial for those looking for answers. It pretty much gives readers a
birds eye view on what to look for and to double check if they’re doing what is
suggested in order to reach their goals.

3. Introduce New Beneficial Tools

It’s great to introduce new tools that you find from time to time that will benefit others.
Do not be like a crazy techie and talk about 30 different tools. That can be
overwhelming, especially for a newbie. I suggest to introduce up to 5 tools.

4. Share What You Learned From Personal Development Books

The bulk of anyone’s business is personal development. I suggest that you should be
reading at least 1 personal development book a month which would probably add up
to reading 10 pages a day. Readers are leaders ;)

5. Share Everyday Experiences That People Can Relate To

One way to really connect with people is to share an everyday experience and
somehow make it analogous to becoming successful. If you’re only strictly talking
about network/affiliate marketing to a newbie or a frustrated marketer with nothing
they can find a connection with, then you’re probably going to start loosing your
audience pretty fast.

6. Change Design Of Blog From Time To Time

Another way to keep your readers interested is to change the layout of your blog once
in a while. You see it from fast food restaurants to department stores. From time to
time these businesses will change their “look” from the inside to the outside to keep
their customers’ interests.

7. Have Your readers Participate In Your Blog

A great way to engage your readers is to have them participate in something within
your blog post. You can give surveys, ask for opinions, start an argument, etc.. This
tells your readers that you also value them.

8. Keep Your Blog Simple

Do not make your blog look like a maze or have a lot of technical jargon. Remember
that we are bloggers, meaning that we need to keep our blogs looking simple to
navigate and the fact that a blog is about one page on average, there’s no need to
use every technical term in one blog post. There are other posts for that!

If you’re looking to take your business to the next level or are looking to start a home business, the best thing to do is to educate yourself. The problem is most people like to jump into an opportunity without being educated on the business or their compensation plan. This can result in years and years of frustration and failure. If you’re looking for the “How to’s” and a step by step process to grow your business than I’m more than willing to help you.

You nailed it, Sherman! Great advice.

The primary goal for bloggers is to provide value and solutions to people’s problems.

If your blog doesn’t achieve that goal, then you’re going to lose your readers. :(

    Thanks for sharing your insights.

    All the best,

    Definitely Mavis,

You have to be able to relate to the readers, but more importantly be able to have the answers to solve people’s problems. This is the way to maintain interest and attract others to your blog. Thanks for your comment!!!
